An invitation to a mini concert
Today at 4 p.m. we are holding a mini CONCERT!
The basement of the Kaunas Christ’s Resurrection Basilica, Žemaičių g. 31A. Everyone is very welcome — the concert is FREE.
A wonderful duo is visiting us:
Taras Kompanichenko, a genius of the bandura — People’s Artist of Ukraine, laureate of the Shevchenko Prize, Ukrainian kobzar, bandura and lira player, researcher of traditional music culture, leader of the ensemble „Khoreia Kozatska“ and a member of the Kyiv kobzar guild. He performs Ukrainian historical music on the ancient bandura, kobza and lira. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine he has served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Mykola Tovkailo — kobzar, candidate of historical sciences, researcher of the kobzar tradition and a master of the Kyiv kobzar guild. He is a student of Heorhii Tkachenko, one of the most important keepers of the old kobzar tradition. His repertoire includes dumas, historical and Cossack songs, and psalms. Mykola Tovkailo also builds ancient banduras, kobzas and liras himself.
Do not miss this rare chance!
